Whew! It’s been a crazy, crazy week or so. Things have been insane. First, my writing deadline slammed me, then our freezer (full of food, including homemade stock, jam, sauces, etc) pooped out, then my parents deposited dozens of boxes Darling and I left in their storage unit 10 years go. Then, our cats chased our dog and managed to scratch the pooch’s cornea and as I was shepherding her and the kids to the car on the way to the vet, our A/C went out. The eye and the A/C happened the day before school started. Charming, yes?
My work deadline was met, with another one coming in 2 weeks. 2 of 3 children have started school. The dog is back home from the vet (we kenneled her while dealing with the A/C). The A/C works again. We’re waiting on the replacement freezer. The current cat/dog relations are subdued. Due to the A/C and beast adventure, the pile of (excessively dirty, dusty) boxes was neglected and still needs to be sorted for keeping/redistributing/donating so Darling can park in the garage again.
And I’m trying to catch my breath and figure out what day it is. Needless to say, I’ve been absent and won’t be around much until things look a little more normal around my neck of the woods. Well, maybe it’s more like “normal.” ;-)

I’m proud of you and yours handling it so well.
Our A/C also went out earlier this summer. Not so bad for me, but sucks for the dog (short-nosed breeds are heat sensitive) and my husband (health conditions leave him heat sensitive as well). The cats, on the other hand, seemed to sleep contentedly through the A/C outage.
