You all know I carry no torch for mainstream moderates.
But I’m beginning to get wood for the ultimate mainstream moderate, Mitt Romney.
The differences versus decrepit old First-Amendment-hating surrender-monkey John McCain are striking.
First, saying what needs to be said about Obama’s taxpayer-looting crony capitalism:
“Free enterprise to the president means taking money from the taxpayers and giving it freely to his friends,” Romney said.
[...]
“If the business had done spectacularly well, the shareholders — his friends — would have done very, very well, but the taxpayers would have just gotten their money back,” Romney said. “On the other hand, of course, if the business failed — as it did — it’s the taxpayers that get stuck with losing a half a billion dollars.”
Second, using the Obama regime’s own tactics against it, sending hecklers out to spoil a stunt by Obama spokesman David Axelrod.
Now that’s what I call community organizing!
I’m beginning to envision, and be very comfortable with, President Romney.
Since you claim to be concerned about lying, Romney’s lies should be concerning.

“For the umpteenth time: Some of these companies will fail. That’s capitalism. That’s lending. That’s life.”
Um, no. That’s big government crony capitalism. Nothing truly capitalist about it.
But don’t take my word for it. Ask Bloomberg.
Wow, that’s some great investigative journalism there: parsing words to see what Inspector General meant what. Ignoring the substance of the issue which is that Obama’s cronies gained and taxpayers lost.
Meanwhile, Obama’s cronies are again being enriched at taxpayer expense on the California High-Speed Train to Nowhere.
This is what the article said.
“Except that Newsweek article was an excerpt from the book “Throw Them All Out,” written by Peter Schweizer, a right-winger who has served as an adviser to Sarah Palin’s PAC, edited one of Andrew Breitbart’s websites, and written a slew of books portraying liberals as pond scum. Not exactly a disinterested source. And it turns out that the inspector general never testified that stimulus contracts were steered to friends and family. He said his office was investigating whether stimulus contracts were steered to friends and family. So far, it hasn’t confirmed that any were.”
There is no evidence that funds were steered towards anyone. So, if we are going to just go by allegations, I am going to allege that Romney gave out contracts to donors while he was a governor.
