My Greyhound trip west followed two presentations in Philadelphia, where I talked about climate change, and more about nuclear power, and more yet about the parallels social scientists see among those who reject scientific consensus.

My writeup of that experience is posted at two locations:

my blog (no comments as of now)

The Energy Collective (oodles of comments)

I worried that people would object to being compared to those people. Instead, it helped them make sense of why they weren’t listening to the facts.

Check it out!

Just a waring, you misspelled climate (cliamte) in your title. JohnE will be all over this! ;)

And so should he be. Thanks for the rescue! And a warning on waring…. Ah, the need for more eyes.

We need spellcheque for comments too. Part of my problem is that I need bifocals but am too cheap to pay for them right now. I read fine and do close up work without glasses and other stuff fine with glasses. The computer screen seems to be the perfect distance for bad sight for me. A little too close for glasses, a little too far for no glasses.

You’re not missing much, DAD. I have seamless trifocals, and I find myself occasionally bobble-heading trying to find the right focus.
