Absolutely huge.
Guess more people believe in freedom than the lefties expected.

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? Do you really see this as a bunch of people supporting “freedom”? Seriously? FUCKING SERIOUSLY??????
And ya know, for somebody who’s cited works like 1984, you really oughtta consider how completely Orwellian your statement is.
My good DADvocate,
Personally, I am very surprised to hear the Christian community becoming so upset about a boycott. They have been using the boycott as a method of social pressure for as long as I can remember. I don’t understand how they can now say this very method is an infringement on their freedom.
I hope you will take a moment to read this very thoughtful post by Ann on her blog. I wish Ann had stuck around awhile (I think she was scared off by Patrick). She responds much more eloquently than I am able to the question, “Do we really want a country where people won’t do commerce with those who have beliefs different than their own?” The gist of it is that the uproar is not over the owner’s opinion but rather his agenda.

P.S. I don’t think I can count myself as a CFA-boycotter (is boycotter a word? It is now!) as I do not eat at any fast-food restaurants other than indulging in the occasional guilty-pleasure of Taco Bell.
Now THIS really is kind of funny. . .in an ironic sought of way, of course.
LCJ’s comment is completely in keeping with some of these other “liberal” nazis; http://patdollard.com/2012/08/choke-to-death-on-that-lgbt-hating-chicken-see-how-the-intolerant-left-is-reacting-to-support-chick-fil-a-day/
I honestly don’t get the controversy for the Left on this.
We ALL support the traditional family unit, don’t we!
Just as we ALL (ostensibly…that is openly) support traditional families.”
I’ve seen Mr Cathy’s comments and STILL find nothing at all “anti-gay,” or anti-ANYthing”. . .they seemed simply “pro-traditional family unit. I don’t know a single soul who opposes that openly!
Are you aware of the organizations the man supports? His comment was in reference to a question about that.
No, I must confess that I am not aware of any “organizations” he supports, just his comments supporting “the traditional family unit.” I find NOTHING at all wrong with such comments. They’re certainly not hateful!
You’re aware, aren’t you that Leftist haters often claim that mainstream groups like CATO, the Heritage Foundation and AEI “hate groups?” Such views by themselves serve to entirely and irrevocably marginalize those who hold them.
Boxer Manny Pacquiao recently made what I believe really IS an “anti-gay” comment when he said something to the effect that all gays deserve death, BUT even there, you have to take into account Manny P’s cultural background. It’s perfectly acceptable for religious Muslims and devout Christians in places like the Philippines to support what is common doctrine in such places – gays, adulterers and others are routinely stoned to death in the Biblical and Sharia traditions.
STILL, in THIS country, Manny Pacquiao’s statement was unacceptable and DOES indeed rise to the level of “anti-gay rhetoric,” in my view.
Support (even “EXCLUSIVELY”) for the “traditional family Unit” and even opposing things like “gay adoption,” etc. in my view DO NOT, for free thinking people are indeed free to disagree over such things.
Whoever casts the first insult generally loses such exchanges. . .and sadly (judging from the comments linked to above) the overly sensitive “fascist liberals” (as opposed to mainstream libs like myself) have apparently lost this one.
If you really feel the way you claim to feel, then I think that it’s worth your while to look into it. Context is everything.
I looked up S. Truet Cathy and all I found was: “Cathy has dedicated his time and resources to many philanthropic causes, focusing on those related to the welfare of needy children. In 1984, Cathy established the WinShape Foundation, named for its mission to shape winners. WinShape Foundation consists of WinShape Homes, WinShape RetreatSM, WinShape MarriageSM, WinShape Camps, WinShape, College Program, WinShape Wilderness and WinShape International. In 2010, the foundation provided roughly $18 million to fund the development of foster homes and summer camp. Past donations from the WinShape Foundation include the funding of several college scholarships and marriage counseling programs. . .
“. . .Additionally, Cathy has dedicated his time and resources towards welcoming homeless children into his home and has taught in Sunday school sessions. He has fostered children for over 30 years, and has since taken in nearly 200 foster children through WinShape Homes. WinShape Homes is a long-term foster care program that includes 11 foster homes throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.[8][9]
“Cathy also has a Leadership Scholarship program for Chick-fil-A restaurant employees, which has awarded more than $23 million in $1,000 scholarships in the past 35 years.[9]“ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._Truett_Cathy)
That looks AWESOME to me!
BUT what if he generously supports groups opposed to legalizing gay marriage?
So WHAT?!
It HAS NOT been established that opposition to gay marriage, gay adoption, or simply “walking around steeped in gayness” rises to the level of “bigotry.” Just because a sizable minority of people seem to believe/perceive that it is, does not make it so. Hell, even if a sizable majority of people perceived it to be “bigotry,” that too, would not make it so. Such things aren’t established by consensus, otherwise the entire foundation of human morality is even more ephemeral , more arbitrary and more capricious than even I’ve condemned it for being!
Like I said elsewhere (there are so many of these posts on this topic) while there IS a decided (and quite NATURAL) bias against “feminine/effeminate males,” there ISN’T really (to my knowledge) a bias against gays, certainly none against the proverbial “butch” prison-rapist type gay. We, as a culture, all admire naked (please pardon that ugly pun) aggression. It’s “weakness” (seen as gentility, meekness, etc) that we all seem to have a natural simian (apelike) aversion to.
