a seemingly endless series of photos of topless women protesting.

Raelians, no less.

I am assuming interest in photo and subject will vary by reader. You may, of course, vote your preferences, but, please, no wagering.

Why’s it always the people you’d gladly buy a bra for that insist on going topless….and I’m talking about guys AND gals.

Seriously, generally, if you’re over 160 pounds &/or over 50 y/o speedos and topless are generally REALLY bad looks for you.

Is it really possible that so many people could have Fun House Mirrors in their homes?!

    • Umm, you and I must not have been looking at the same photo stream. There was one person that met your listed criteria. 99% of the women shown were fit and totally “worthy” of being seen and photographed topless.

More likely, it’s due to differing standards of “beauty.” It could also be that I’m a curmudgeon, not exactly sure which….(maybe a bit of both).

I will add that the OTHER major problem I have with this movement is that it serves to undermine strip clubs. A lot of jaded, but well-endowed women make a good living in such places, or so I hear.

I’ve never gone to a strip club, nor been with a prostitute (at least not for “business”), so such “professions” would be unsustainable if the world were filled with guys like me, but I guess they’re means to making a living.

A Buddhist monk I’d met back in 1981 said something that resonated with me right away and STILL does today, when he said, “I don’t know exactly why defined sex roles and the objectification of females is so vital to civilization, but they are. Perhaps they are the ONLY things that keep the majority of men from retreating back into absolute savage barbarism.”

Now, you have to realize that these monks sit alone in thought for years, even decades at a time, so they’re not the most articulate people.

What he said may not have been all that well-put, but there was a lot of truth to it.

We’re all familiar with the image of the Cave MAN bopping the Cave WOMAN on the head with a club and dragging her off.

Well, prior to “modern civilization” and the advent of the city-state, rape was courtship. Males would generally pick out a targeted female and basically abduct her. I understand some hillbillies, some inner city pimps AND many devout Muslims do pretty much the same to this very day…which is yet another reason to revile much of humanity.

Still, I think what that monk said sort of explains how mankind was transformed from that earlier savage “culture,” to the somewhat more “civilized” one we’re familiar with today. In a way strip clubs, porn, tight skirts and 6″ stiletto heels have all played a role in “civilizing” society and making the male/female relationship more of a negotiation and generally somewhat less violent.

I guess what I’m saying is that “Adrogeny = savagery.”

These crusades (jihads?) to “equalize men and women and make them “interchangeable” is ultimately a DE-civilizing influence, in my humble opinion (and that of at least one Buddhist monk), of course.
