In this season of political fighting, infighting, sniping, backstabbing, etc, along comes an interesting piece speculating on what would happen were all of the US presidents to be placed in a large arena armed with serious knifes and instructed to battle to the death until only one remains standing. http://faceintheblue.wordpress.com/2012/08/22/in-a-mass-knife-fight-to-the-death-between-every-american-president-who-would-win-and-why/

My money is on Lincoln although Jerry Ford was big and strong and able to play football without a helmet (unless you count a leather hat).

    Andrew Jackson

He fought thirteen duels over the course of his life.

Only one resulted in the death of the other guy, though.

When you take the first rule into accout: “Every president is in the best physical and mental condition they were ever in throughout the course of their presidency.” Jackson’s age getsto him. He turned 62 10 days after taking office. If you changed the rules to the presidnet peing in their prime, period, Jackson hands down.

Under the current rules, I’d have to give W good odds. He’s a fitness fanatic and athletic enough. I like Teddy R. too.

Good point. On the other hand, us old folks can be sneaky on occasion.
I wonder if one could hide behind Taft until the worst of the initial melee is over? Maybe two or three could hide there.

LOL! Taft was large. In a gun fight, you could use him as a barricade.

People were really worried about his health during his administration. So no, he WASN’T in his best health ever, despite his possible usefulness as a fortification.
