With the same tropism with which I reflexively avoided the pathetic narcissist doorstop Kristen Wiig (that is, as a vampire does silver), I find myself now unerringly gravitating like a smitten hound to new Saturday Night Live featured player Kate McKinnon.

As anyone who has watched the show from its inception knows, SNL is episodically, problematically funny. When Kate McKinnon hits her sweet spot, it is as funny as it has ever possibly been.

So that you may assess my judgement for yourselves, two examples:
