In an interview on “WorldNetDaily” radio, Ted Nugent said the following:

“It really is a nation divided. And it’s never been more divided. The racism that President Obama and Eric “Gunrunning” Holder promote is just heartbreaking and it’s tragic and those of us that know better have got to constantly expose their ruse and their scams and their racist agenda.”

Questions for discussion:  (1) Has our nation truly “never been more divided”?  (2) If so, is it because of the “racism [of]  President Obama and Eric ‘Gunrunning’ Holder”? (3) What is the Obama/Holder “racist agenda” and how is it working out for them so far? Finally, (4) How did the “Cat Scratch Fever” guy get to be a national pundit?

    1) Obviously not. There’s no civil war going on.
2/3) Why no prosecuton on the Philadelphia Black Panther voter intimidation case? DOJ was ready to go until Obama was elected and Holder took over. On the other hand, Obama is working on a embarassing white guy cabinet.
    4) How do any of those celebrities become national pundits? Become famous and suddenly you become enbued with knowledge and wisdom ordinary people, even highly intelligent non-celebrities, cannot fathom. Nugent’s up there at least as high as Chris Rock, who had this to say the other day:

“The President of the United States is, you know, our boss. But he is also, you know, the president and the first lady are kinda like the Mom and Dad of the country,” Rock said. “And when your Dad says something, you listen. And when you don’t, it will usually bite you in the ass later on. So, I’m here to support the president.”

I can’t wait for Hillary to get elected so we can literally have a nanny state.

Because there wasnt any. No one in Philadelphia was intimidated by black guys wearing boots.

Agree on the inanity of elevating celebs to the punditry because they were rock stars or made movies. OTOH, the pundits are wrong so often, I guess the celebs cant do too much worse.

Or, as my husband’s grandmother would have said, “When you’re rich, you’re smart and handsome, and you sing well, too.”

  2. DADvocate: I can’t disagree with you on the fact that Ted Nugent’s as qualified as the other celebs who pontificate at us all the time–you mentioned Chris Rock, but then there’s Rosie O’Donnell, Whoopie Goldberg, Janeane Garofalo, Bono, and lord knows who else, all of them equally and eminently unqualified. God help us, I’ve heard that Alec Baldwin might run for Senator sometime. Whatever else you think of Ronald Reagan, he and George Murphy made it respectable for actors to go into politics, and I shudder to think where that might lead (Al Franken?). Thanks for the response.

I just don’t understand why they think they got so darn smart all of the sudden.

With Nugent, it’s more that he’s going to say something way over the top and idiotic. He is the Chickenhawk’s chickenhawk. I don’t know if he believes half the gibberish he says, but he makes a living at it and it beats working. He was a keynote speaker at the recent NRA convention. With that, you don’t need to know anything more about the current NRA.

  3. I don’t believe that Ted Nugent is a very good advertisement for the long-term effects of playing very bad rock&roll at incredibly high volume…but then, Keith Richards is no poster boy for the effects of much better rock&roll, either.

  4. Chris N says:

    1. Probably.
    2. and 3. Obama and Holder are somewhat tapped into the old Civil Rights apparatus, the one that fought against deep racism in the Old South. The old guard are fighting the old battles. Racist? Tough to prove. Probably not, but they’ve got an agenda that many Americans don’t agree with, which includes old Ted Nugent apparently. Racist agenda? Im not going there.
    4. He who composes “Cat Scratch Fever”, gets a national punditry pass for life.
